Tennessee Titans DT Jeffery Simmons shoots down trade rumors

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons believes he’ll still be in Nashville after the NFL trade deadline.
The eighth-year veteran said, before practice on Oct. 28, that any trade rumors involving him, including teams that have called Tennessee to inquire about him, are not true.

“I haven’t heard from my agent, anything from this organization,” Simmons said. “As far as I know, I’m going to be here.”
The trade deadline is Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. CT.
Teams have contacted Tennessee in past seasons about Simmons but nothing ever came close to materializing. The Titans (1-6) could ask a lot for their 6-foot-4, 305-pound lineman, who received a contract extension worth up to $105.9 million in June.
“Each and every day (when) I wake up, my goal is to be where my feet are at. I’m never looking ahead. Right now it’s just being in the moment,” Simmons said. “I can be that type of guy who says, ‘I want out’ or I can be the type of guy who can stay here and (with) my leadership and everything help turn things around where I know it can get back to. That’s kind of been my mindset, what can I do to help influence this team and get things back on track? That’s all I focus on.”

Taylor, who was signed to a three-year, $58 million free-agent deal in the offseason, said he has no concerns about a potential trade. He hasn’t played the last two weeks despite being healthy.
He was signed as an outside cornerback but is preparing to play more nickel.
Titans running back Tony Pollard has been mentioned as a trade possibility since his three-year deal expires in 2026, but Pollard was not in the locker room before practice to speak.
