Latta, Vanoss split games in McLoud

SHAWNEE — Rylee Jones had a big day at the plate, hitting a pair of doubles to help the Latta Lady Panthers turn back Cashion 8-6 Thursday at the 2026 McLoud Fastpitch Tournament.

The host McLoud Lady Redskins handed Latta a 6-4 setback in a late pool-play contest.
Vanoss also split its first two games of the tournament, blanking Bridge Creek 3-0 before falling to Elk City 5-0.
The tournament continued Friday and will move into bracket play today.
Latta 8, Cashion 6
Latta (14-7) built an 8-1 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning, but Cashion (9-11) battled back with four runs in the frame and another in the fourth before the time limit expired.
Jones went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored from her leadoff spot for the Lady Panthers. Calaya Oliphant added a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI.
Kaidence Phillips finished 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Neveah Quarterman went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored. Jenna Freeze was 1-for-1 with a walk and two RBIs.
Bostyn Thompson gave Latta a five-run cushion with an inside-the-park home run that made it 6-1 with one out in the third inning. Thompson also earned the pitching win, striking out three and walking one in four innings.
McLoud 6, Latta 4
The host Lady Redskins (19-5) erased a 3-0 deficit with a five-run surge in the bottom of the third inning.
Rylee Jones continued to swing a hot bat for Latta, going 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.
Jenna Freeze finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Calaya Oliphant, Alaina McDonald and Addison Cowans also had hits for the Lady Panthers. Oliphant scored a run and Cowans drove in a run.
Jasci Schafer, Lexi Patterson and Avery Soward each had two RBIs for McLoud.
Miley Hicklin got the start in the circle for the home team. She struck out one, walked two and allowed three earned runs in the five-inning contest.
McDonald pitched well for Latta, striking out four, walking three and allowing no earned runs in 4.2 innings.
The Lady Panthers were charged with three errors.
Vanoss 3, Bridge Creek 0
Reece Corley turned in a five-inning gem for Vanoss (16-9), striking out eight, walking three and allowing just three hits.
She also helped her own cause at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
Paisley Collins paced the Lady Wolves with a 3-for-3 performance that included a double, an RBI and a run scored. Dalli Carlos finished 1-for-2 and scored a run.
Daylynn Mason doubled, while Kallie Marlow and Piper Throckmorton added base hits for the Lady Bobcats (13-9).
Elk City 5, Vanoss 0
Elk City broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Alivia Casas capped the Elkettes’ scoring with a two-RBI triple in the fifth.
Cali Blankenship led Elk City at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored. Blakely Ball went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple, an RBI and a run scored.
Laela Hamm finished 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored.
Kynlee Suter tossed a three-hit shutout for Elk City, striking out one and walking one in the five-inning contest.
Kinley Delozier, RJ King and Kerrigan Wootten had the only hits for Vanoss.
Savannah Delozier pitched all five innings for the Lady Wolves, striking out five, walking seven and allowing three earned runs.
