Area football players earn game balls after Week 3 of the season

Here's a look at standout performances from area players during Week 3 of the high school football season:

Xavier Geter – QB, Midland Valley

Geter completed 11 of 18 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown in the Mustangs' big win against A.C. Flora. He also rushed 15 times for 162 yards and four scores.

Preston Smith – RB, Midland Valley

Smith scored two touchdowns on 19 carries that produced 226 yards. He also caught two passes for 21 yards.

Braylon Fuller – DB, Midland Valley

Fuller registered 11 total tackles, including nine solo, and a pair of quarterback pressures.

Simeon Jones – Defense, North Augusta

Jones had nine tackles, including five for losses, and one forced fumble as the Yellow Jackets defeated Greenwood 45-13.

Dez Davis – Defense, North Augusta

Davis added two tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery that he returned 96 yards for a touchdown.

Collin Tillman – QB, North Augusta

Tillman was 18 of24 passing for 178 yards and four touchdowns.

Jayden Hatcher – RB, North Augusta

Hatcher added 94 yards rushing and touchdowns on the ground and receiving.

Jacob DeGennaro – K, North Augusta

DeGennaro made all five of his PAT attempts and a 41-yard field goal.

Tommy Burns III – QB, South Aiken

Burns connected on 17 of 20 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns as the Thoroughbreds defeated Brookland-Cayce.

Michael Platte – P, South Aiken

Platte averaged 46.4 yards on two punts, including a long of 53 downed on the 1-yard line.

Blake Goodman – WR, South Aiken

Goodman had six catches for 97 yards and a score.

Levar Gilchrist – Defense, South Aiken

Gilchrist had six total tackles.

Bryson Crawford – RB, Fox Creek

Crawford carried 31 times for 247 yards and five touchdowns as the Predators earned their first win of the season against Dixie.

One of Crawford's scores was a 75-yard kickoff return.
