Tuesday's volleyball results: Jackson's Morgan Rosenberry surpasses 1,000 career assists

  • Jackson 25-25-35, Hoover 14-22-17: Morgan Rosenberry surpassed 1,000 career assists for Jackson in a win over Hoover. Rosenberry recorded 36 assists in the victory over the Vikings. Bella Phillips and Maren Evanto both had 10 points and two service aces for Jackson. Evanto led the Polar Bears with 20 digs. Brooklyn Brownsword and Rebecca Yockey had nine kills each. Hayey James also had two blocks for Jackson. Rachel Jankowski led Hoover with 11 kills. Also contributing for the Vikings were Tanner Wilson with five service points, Sofia Tula with 15 digs and Peyton Reid with two blocks.  
  • GlenOak 25-23-25-24-15, Perry 23-25-21-26-7: MyQuella Lipkins had 20 kills, 12 blocks and four service aces to help GlenOak outlast Perry in Federal League play. Ari Wermuth added 30 digs for the Golden Eagles. Ruthie Wiemer also had 25 assists for GlenOak. Adysen Hill led Perry with 12 service points and 11 kills. Sawyer Falvo also had 21 assists and 15 digs for the Panthers.  
  • Lake 25-22-25-26, McKinley 22-25-23-24: Alexis Fawver had 15 service points, three aces and 14 digs for McKinley in a Federal League loss to Lake. Taeko Thompson had 28 assists for the Bulldogs. Ni'Kiza Elder led McKinley with 12 kills.  
  • Minerva 25-25-25, Alliance 13-19-10: Ayla Shellenberger had 14 kills, nine service points and two aces to help Minerva (2-5, 1-2) defeat Alliance. Carsyn Marriner added 23 assists for Minerva. Jenna Dowell also had 12 service points and five aces for the Lions.  
  • West Branch 25-25-28, Carrollton 18-19-26: Erin Shafer had 14 digs and 12 assists for Carrollton in a loss to West Branch. Berlyn Zimmerman added six kills for Carrollton. Katie Kuba also had eight points and three assists for Carrollton. 
  • Malvern 25-25-25, East Canton 12-20-9: Ashlyn Bush had 14 assists to help Malvern sweep East Canton. Whitney Smith added 12 points and four aces for Malvern. Avery Sprague added seven digs for Malvern. Lexi Barbant also had six kills and two blocks for Malvern.  
  • Fairless 25-25-25, Manchester 20-11-15: Fairless defeated Manchester to improve to 7-0 on the year.  
  • Tuslaw 24-27-27-25, Coventry 26-25-25-23: Morgan Emig-Ross had 12 kills and 14 digs as Tuslaw defeated Coventry in a competitive match. Kamdyn Dibell added 11 kills, 11 points and three service aces for the Mustangs. Katie Speck also had 23 assists for Tuslaw.  
  • Warren JFK 26-25-14-25, Lake Center Christian 24-15-25-21: Lilly Kane made 15 kills and three service aces for Lake Center Christian in a loss to Warren JFK. Charley Levengood had 30 assists for the Tigers. Kamden Maninga recorded 25 digs for Lake Center Christian.   

Tuesday's boys soccer highlights: West Branch shut out Minerva

  • West Branch 7, Minerva 0: West Branch (5-1) earned a shutout win over Minerva (3-4) in Eastern Buckeye Conference play. West Branch recorded 30 shots on goal and built up a 4-0 halftime lead.  
  • Kidron Central Christian 3, Lake Center Christian 1: Caleb Patrick scored a goal for Lake Center Christian as the Tigers lost. Cam Adam had an assist for the Tigers. Oliver Baker made two saves in goal for Lake Center Christian.  

Tuesday's girls tennis highlights: Jackson improves to 11-1

  • Jackson 4, Hathaway Brown 1: Jackson (11-1) won two singles matches and two doubles matches as the Polar Bears beat Hathaway Brown. The singles winners for Jackson were Claire Williams and Ashley Helle. The doubles teams that won for the Polar Bears were Kamryn Rieder and Lindsey Helle and the team of Ralyn Moss and Ava Morrow.  
  • Hoover 3, CVCA 2: Hoover won two singles matches and a doubles match as the Vikings defeated CVCA. The singles winners for Hoover were Maria Fernandez and Layna Seacrist. The winning doubles team for the Vikings was Lexi Potashnik and Molly Nadel.  
  • West Branch 3, Southeast 2: West Branch won a singles match and both doubles matches to earn a victory over Southeast. Cailyn Brink won at singles for West Branch. The doubles team winners were Landry Simon and Lauren Sasnor and the team of Ava Cope and Sophia Hall. 

Tuesday's boys golf highlights: Minerva competes at Phipps Memorial

Phipps Memorial: Minerva took seventh place at the Phipps Memorial at Congress Lake Golf Course with a 351. Hoover won the team title with a score of 301. Scoring for Minerva were Will Blackburn (79), Tyson Fetty (87), Parker Linkous (89) and Brooks Peterson (96). No other information was available.
