Theo Hernandez has once again spoken warmly about Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé, and Zinedine Zidane.

In an interview with AS, the former Real Madrid left-back discussed the future of the French national team, with Didier Deschamps set to step down after the World Cup and Zidane widely viewed as a possible successor.

“Deschamps is leaving after the World Cup. I’ve been with him since 2021, I think. He’s a great coach and a good person. We get along great. And as for Zidane, I had him at Real Madrid. I think he’s a great coach and a great person. We’ll see what happens with him after the World Cup.”

The Al-Hilal defender also spoke about Mbappé, making it clear that his relationship with the Real Madrid star goes beyond the pitch.

“I have a good relationship with Kylian. We’re friends off the pitch. And on it, we know the kind of player he is: an incredible footballer, a magnificent captain, and he knows we’ll always be there for him.”

Mbappé has faced enormous pressure since joining Real Madrid, but Theo offered a strong defense of his France teammate. He emphasized both Mbappé’s quality and leadership, while also revealing that he encouraged him by reminding him of the magnitude of the club he had joined.

“No, I just told him that Real Madrid was the best club in the world. And, well, I always watch him play. I always follow Real Madrid’s matches from Saudi Arabia, because my friend Brahim is there too. And the truth is, I think Mbappé is doing really well. He’s a fantastic player, a captain, and a leader. We’re always going to support Mbappé to the death.”
