Trent Lakes man charged after 53 firearms found; Pickering man charged in retail theft

A Trent Lakes, Ont., man faces multiple charges after a search warrant allegedly led to the discovery of 53 long rifles and 278 grams of cocaine, among other items.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) launched an investigation this month into an individual suspected of having firearms despite being prohibited from possessing any.
On Wednesday, officers executed a search warrant at an address on Bessie Ave. in Trent Lakes and placed the accused under arrest.
Police alleged a subsequent search found cocaine on him.
Joshua Fawcett ,39, is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; careless storage of firearms, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition; possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Also allegedly seized in the search was various ammunition, ammunition reloader devices, digital scales, cellphones and over $5,000 in Canadian cash.

MAN, 23, ARRESTED FOR YORK REGION RETAIL THEFT
A 23-year-old Pickering man has been charged in connection with a retail theft investigation in King, Ont.
York Regional Police say officers responded to reports of a theft at a retailer in the area of King Rd. and William St. on Monday where it’s alleged a man stole a quantity of beauty supplies and fled the store.
A suspect was subsequently identified by investigators and arrested.
On Tuesday, Alex Cioriia was charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Asearch warrant was also executed at a residence where investigators allegedly recovered additional stolen property.
Police released an image of the accused out of concern for the possibility of additional alleged victims.

MAN, 47, ACCUSED OF RANDON ATTACK ON TTC STREETCAR
A 47-year-old man is accused of an assault on a TTC streetcar last month.
Toronto Police say it’s allege a man was on a streetcar near at Spadina Ave. and College St. around 7:15 p.m. on March 16 when he suspect randomly punched another transit rider in the face, then kicked the person, causing him to fall out of the open door onto the transit stop median.
The assailant then fled the scene on foot.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigators subsequently identified and located a suspect.
Shaun Dwayne Eubank, of Toronto, is charged with assault causing bodily harm and fail to comply with probation order
