Allgaier won the championship after finishing 14 points ahead of Jesse Love in the final standings. The driver of the No. 7 posted a seventh-place finish in the championship race, while Love came home fourth.

Love ends the season second in the standings after winning the championship last year. The driver of the No. 2 completes a three-year stint with Richard Childress Racing as he is set to move up to the Cup Series in 2027. Love will pilot the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford in his rookie campaign.

The most notable points shift in Saturday’s race was Corey Day. After a Lap 9 crash that put him multiple laps down, Day finished 34th in the race. That dismal result dropped the rookie driver from third in the standings to fifth.

Carson Kvapil and Sheldon Creed were able to take advantage of Day’s woes. Kvapil placed third in the final standings, while Creed finished fourth in the Chase standings.

The remaining drivers in the standings (6th-12th), respectively, were Sam Mayer, Sammy Smith, Brandon Jones, Taylor Gray, Austin Hill, Parker Retzlaff, and Rajah Caruth. All of them were mathematically eliminated from winning the championship entering Homestead.

Justin Allgaier Caps Off Remarkable Year With 2026 Championship

Justin Allgaier proved that age is just a number.

The 40-year-old arguably put together his best season yet in 2026. Allgaier recorded a career-high six wins, the most out of anybody in 2026, and clinched the regular season championship with a resounding 200-plus point lead.

The veteran driver’s championship win on Saturday marked his second title in the last three years. Allgaier finally became a NASCAR champion in 2024 after 15 years of competing within the sport’s top three series.

Now, Allgaier is one of only 10 drivers with multiple O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championships, with one of them being car owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.

For JR Motorsports, it is the team’s fifth championship. Allgaier became the first driver in JR Motorsports history to win multiple championships with the organization.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Allgaier will remain with JR Motorsports on a multi-year deal. With two championships in the last three seasons, there is no telling what Allgaier can achieve in the coming years.
