Key stats that defined Penn State’s win over Washington
· Yahoo Sports
Things got a bit dicey for Penn State in the second half against Washington, but overall, there were a lot of things to be impressed with. The offense seemed unstoppable for an entire half of play, the defense was lights out as always and the team didn’t fold under pressure.

As always, there are some things to improve on, but there were many more things to build on and to be excited about in that game. It looks like the Nittany Lions will be able to compete in the Big Ten after all.
Here are some key stats from Week 10 that defined Penn State’s game vs. the Huskies
Yards per attempt
Quarterback Rocco Becht was one of the members of the team who struggled in the second half, but his first half was spectacular. He was heaving the ball down the field early and often, which resulted in his third-highest yards per attempt average of the season.
Becht averaged 8.9 Yards per throw, and it would have been much more if the second half wasn’t so rough. Penn State will be tough to beat in the future if the offense can find that explosion more often.
Receiving yards
Wide receiver Chase Sowell had a spirited return to the field this week. He followed his 151-yard performance against Michigan a few weeks ago with a four-catch, 125-yard game on Saturday.
It seemed like every single pass he caught was a deep shot, which is ironically the type of play he scored his receiving touchdown on. Penn State only beat Washington by three points, so it needed all the production it could get from Sowell.
Second-half score
This isn’t a conventional statistic, but the second-half score of this game was too important not to include. The Huskies outscored Penn State 19-0 in the second half, but the latter somehow managed to hold on at the end.
The Nittany Lions apparently left the offense in the locker room, as they struggled to move the ball until the final drive of the game. They were thoroughly outplayed in the second half, but thankfully none of that will matter when you look at the team’s record.
