The Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg has made noise early in the regular season with his all-around abilities. NBA analyst Bill Simmons even went as far as to compare the former University of Michigan forward to a young LeBron James. However, fans were unimpressed with the comparison and called the analyst out for drawing parallels this early in the season.

The Warriors registered their first win of the season, 134-114, against the Denver Nuggets after three consecutive losses. An explosive Lendeborg led the offense with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. It was also his second double-double in the NBA in just four games. Simmons was so impressed with the performance that he claimed:

“Yaxel looked like mid-2010s LeBron in this game. I don’t say that lightly because mid-2010s LeBron was awesome.”

Meanwhile, fans disagreed with the analyst and felt it was too early for such comparisons. One wrote:

Leading the Warriors squad, which includes Steph Curry, is surely a task in itself for a rookie like Lendeborg. Though he is coming up as a talented offensive asset for the team, comparing him to King James might be too early. Warriors fans will be excited to see what more he can bring to the table.

Former NBA players advise Yaxel Lendeborg to pick Steph Curry and Draymond Green’s brains

Yaxel Lendeborg was ecstatic after his first NBA win, which came with him leading the squad, after Steph Curry tweaked his ankle during the team’s open practice before the game. The elite shooter finished with 24 points, three rebounds, and three assists.

After the game, Lendeborg asked for advice from former players on the panel, Tracy McGrady and Carmelo Anthony. Everyone had just one piece of advice: learn as much as possible from Curry and Draymond Green.

While T-Mac told the rookie to “ask questions because you can never ask a dumb question,” Melo let him know about the importance of analyzing the film after every game and improving accordingly. These will surely help the player further in the regular season.
