Jahmyr Gibbs on injury watch after scary slide at end of Lions-Packers
· Yahoo Sports
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is officially on injury watch following his team’s victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
The potential injury happened near the end of the game with about one minute left in regulation.

Gibbs was taking a carry and stopped himself short of the end zone before scoring so the Lions could run the clock out and kick a game-winning field goal.
However, while he was making the unselfish play, something he did twice on the final series, Gibbs’ leg bent awkwardly while he was going down and he appeared to be a bit hobbled following the play before exiting the field.

Here’s the video of the ball. Watch Gibbs’ left leg.
Jahmyr Gibbs twisted awkwardly while going down to bleed clock. Was only slightly limping on the sidelines so it’s probably nothing, but don’t always love how that looks on the ankle or knee. Should’ve just gone in for the TD. Less risky. https://t.co/4uVtjaGdAo

Because it was near the end of the game, there was no update on if Gibbs was hurt and what he might be dealing with if he is.
We’ll have to wait and see if head coach Dan Campbell has an update on him after the game. We can only hope one of the NFL’s best running backs avoided an injury while making the selfless play.

Credit: USA TODAY Network via Reuters Connect (Reuters)The Packers and Lions had an ugly game full of miscues on both sides of the ball and questionable penalties. We even saw an official accidentally get cleated.
But the Lions were just slightly better than the Packers in the contest en route to a 20-17 victory.
It was tough sledding for Gibbs for most of the game, which was especially surprising because the Packers were just a middle-of-the-road run defense going into the game.

Gibbs still managed to rip off four yards per carry and finished with 116 yards on the ground. He also chipped-in with five catches for 27 yards in the passing game.
Gibbs has now passed the century mark on the ground in three of six games, and he has topped 100 scrimmage yards in all but one contest.
