The Cleveland Browns were able to defeat the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 in Week 6, and outside of it being a divisional game, there were other reasons why this was a big game. Head coach Todd Monken went against his former team after being the offensive coordinator for the Ravens for three years.

Instead of rubbing the win in their face, Monken took the high road and spoke highly about the Ravens and gave thanks to everyone who helped him get to this position as head coach for the Browns.

“I got a ton of respect for that organization, and for the players and the coaches from top to bottom,” Monken said. “I owe a lot to Coach Harbaugh for hiring me there. Kirby Smart, for three years previously, changed my career path in a lot of ways after here, and then John took it to another level there by hiring me. I wouldn’t have this job without that, without the Ravens and without the players, and the coaches who were with us.”

The Browns believed that Monken would be the right man for the job as they needed a new head coach during the offseason, and so far, he’s got the team in a good position. Some people wouldn’t have thought that, through six games, the Browns would be 4-2, but here they are.

They have a good chance to add another win next week when they face the Tennessee Titans, who just got their first win of the season this week.

If Monken continues to put together a strong game plan for the Browns as the season continues, there is a good chance they could find themselves in the playoffs. For Monken, that would be a big accomplishment in his first year as the head coach.
