The deadline for rookie extensions is Monday, Oct. 19, a day before the 2026-27 NBA season begins.
Ighodaro’s extension will run through the 2030-31 season, starting in 2028-29. He is currently on a four-year, $ 7.8 million deal.

The Arizona Republic reported last week that an extension for Ighodaro would likely be three years.
The 6-11 forward said last week he and the Suns were talking about a possible extension and that he wanted to stay with the organization.
A second-round pick out of Marquette in 2024, Ighodaro averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds last season, playing every game, including the team’s two play-in games and first-round playoff series.
The Desert Vista graduate is entering his third NBA season.
Khaman Maluach and Ighodaro have been competing for the starting center position as Mark Williams is out with a left shoulder injury and is expected to miss multiple months of the regular season.
