Jason Kelce takes suspended refs’ side in recent incidents
The NFL suspended two officials on October 5, 2026, for separate instances of unprofessional conduct toward players during Week 4 games. Line judge Jeff Seeman received a two-game suspension without pay for his exchange with Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride in the Cardinals’ 36-24 loss to the New York Giants. Broadcast cameras showed Seeman directing profanities at McBride after the tight end argued for a pass-interference penalty on a third-down incompletion involving Giants cornerback Dru Phillips. NFL vice president of officiating Ramon George issued the discipline.

On a play whistled dead for a neutral-zone infraction, Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II shoved Wilson into Hill, knocking the official to the ground. When Wilson reached to help him up, Hill rose, yelled, and motioned for Wilson to move away.
On a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason defended Wilson at first. He said, “I have a bigger problem with this one. ‘Cause clearly Eric Wilson did not try to do this. And then he’s trying to help him up, and then he gets mad at him. I think this is bogus.” However, he then reversed his position, and supported both suspended officials. He remarked, “You know what? I’m retracting all this! I’m on the sides of both of these officials! I take the officials’ side!”
Both Kelce brothers admitted that they had heated exchanges with referees in the past, which was often filled with profanity. Jason also recently paid tribute to a former Eagles teammate.

Longtime Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson recently announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons. Following the retirement, many spoke about Johnson, including quarterback Jalen Hurts and Jason as well. Jason and Johnson were teammates for 11 seasons, and won a Super Bowl title together.
In an X post, Jason wrote a message to Johnson. It read, “Lane Johnson is a special player, but more importantly a special person! I love him like a brother! For the past decade, Lane has been the best Right tackle in the NFL. His athleticism, technique, strength, and size, combined to make him a player few could get around.”
He further wrote, “Congratulations on retirement, I loved ever second of watching you play, and am proud that I got to share the field with you @LaneJohnson65.”
Jason Kelce will now continue to focus on his post-NFL career.
