Syracuse Football Gets Finalized Gametime For ACC Battle with Louisville

The Syracuse Orange football team won its second game of the season this past weekend with a 42-41 overtime thriller against the UConn Huskies in East Hartford, Conn. 

Quarterback Amari Odom, making his first start in an Orange uniform, was the story of the game, accounting for six total touchdowns and the game-winning two-point conversion. He was starting in place of Steve Angeli, who was the incumbent starter coming into the year.

After the win, SU now prepares for a matchup against the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday. Kickoff between the Orange and Cavaliers is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. in Charlottesville, Va.

The game against Virginia will represent the third consecutive road game for the Orange, who also played at Pitt in Week 3 and at UConn in Week 5 around a bye week in Week 4.

The Orange's next home game is set for Oct. 17 against Louisville, and we learned more details on that contest on Monday.

When will Syracuse and Louisville football kick off?

7:30 p.m. ET. The Orange will return to the JMA Wireless Dome after a 35-day time away from their home field. The matchup between the Orange and Cardinals will air nationally on the ACC Network. It will be the third conference game of the season for the Orange, who are 0-2 in the league.

Does the late night kickoff benefit Syracuse?

Possibly. The Orange should have a strong student turnout for the game, as Louisville is one of the top opponents to play in Central New York this season. That weekend features a number of high school games in the Central New York Area, but with most of them on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, there should be a good local presence for Saturday night.

Scouting the Cardinals

Louisville has been one of the toughest teams to understand this season. The Cardinals defeated SMU in what was considered a clash between the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the ACC (after Miami). Louisville then lost its next game as a double-digit favorite to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and then lost to NC State.

Head coach Jeff Brohm's team sits at 2-3 on the season. Louisville plays on Friday night against Florida State before taking on the Orange. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
