Mexico has learned its opponent for a pair of November matches that will determine its 2027 schedule.

Jamaica drew with Honduras on Monday, Oct. 5, finishing second in Concacaf Nations League League A Group B. With Mexico the top-seeded team as of the July 20, 2026 Concacaf rankings, and the Reggae Boyz finishing as the group runner-up with the fewest points, the two sides will meet in a home-and-away series in November with a place in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals on the line.

Since then, Mexico beat Jamaica 3-0 in the semifinal of the 2023 Gold Cup and also won a 2024 Copa América group contest between the two teams.

Mexico has played friendly matches, drawing Colombia and Peru but falling 3-0 to the rival United States. It is looking for a first win under new manager Rafa Marquez when it plays Chile in a Tuesday, Oct. 6 friendly

Jamaica, who had to qualify to reach the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals, started hot with a 3-2 win over Guatemala but fell 1-0 to Honduras in Kingston. A 2-0 victory over El Salvador in Central America put the Reggae Boyz back in the picture for a top-two finish in the group. A 1-1 draw with Honduras in Tegucigalpa was enough to secure a place in the next round.
