The Jaguars lost 24-21 in Cincinnati during Lawrence’s rookie season in 2021.
Two years later, the Bengals escaped Jacksonville with a 34-31 overtime victory. Cincinnati made it three straight last season, rallying for a 31-27 win after Lawrence threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns.
Lawrence acknowledged Wednesday that the history has crossed his mind.
“We have to make it turn; we have to go win it,” Lawrence said, via Jaguars.com.
He's coming into the latest meeting playing some of his best football. Lawrence has completed 66.7% of his passes for 616 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions through three games, producing a 107.8 passer rating.
Jacksonville is 2-1 after a 35-6 win over New England.
Cincinnati is also 2-1 after falling 30-27 to Pittsburgh.
Sunday gives Lawrence another opening to wipe out one of the few opponent-specific droughts that has followed him throughout his NFL career.
