It came down to Game 162 but the Phillies avoided an epic collapse to make the postseason, earning a date with the division-rival Braves in the Wild Card series.
Philadelphia will be looking for a reset after going 10-14 in September and barely holding off a late charge from the Diamondbacks for the final spot in the National League bracket. While the Phillies are in the postseason for the fifth straight year, they haven't won a series since reaching the NLCS in 2023.
The Braves are in a similar October slump, going 0-3 in postseason series since winning it all in 2021 and missing out on the playoffs entirely last year. Atlanta isn't riding much current momentum, either, playing .500 ball in September, but the Braves didn't have to sweat their division lead the last few weeks and will hope they can flip the switch.
Atlanta won nine of the 13 matchups against Philadelphia this year, but this figures to be a tight series between two rosters with plenty of playoff experience.
