A weekend away from NBA training camp, the Oklahoma City Thunder continue to add names to their roster. They signed three players on Friday to Exhibit-10 contracts — Zhaire Smith, Andrew Holifield and Robert McCray V. Expect all three to participate in the preseason, as well.
Smith is the most notable of the bunch. He was the No. 16 pick of the 2018 NBA draft. After two years with the Philadelphia 76ers, he's bounced around in the G League level and elsewhere. He played on the OKC Blue last season. In 33 games, he averaged 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists.
Meanwhile, Holifield and McCray V went undrafted in the 2026 NBA draft. Both played their final collegiate season this past year. Holifield averaged 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists at Lamar. And McCray V averaged 16.3 points, 6.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds at Florida State.
As a reminder, an Exhibit-10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal. It essentially serves as a training camp and preseason invite. NBA teams utilize them to acquire the G League rights for several players. And in rare cases, they get converted to a two-way spot at the end of training camp.
In OKC's case, this is purely to get their G League rights. All three will likely be added to the Blue. As mentioned earlier, Smith was on their roster last year. Holifield and McCray V are two undrafted rookies who should join him.
The Thunder enter the 2026-27 season as a co-title favorite — alongside the San Antonio Spurs. Even after a summer filled with cost-cutting moves, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams should suffice to keep OKC in the title picture.
