The decisive sequence began when Herbert escaped pressure and connected with Tre Harris for a 53-yard gain, putting the Chargers deep into Raiders territory. Two plays later, Herbert found tight end Oronde Gadsden II for a 10-yard touchdown, giving Los Angeles a 14-10 advantage with 9:49 remaining in the third quarter.

The touchdown provided a much-needed spark for an offense that had struggled to maintain consistency during the opening half. Unfortunately for the Chargers, the momentum did not last. Las Vegas responded with a touchdown on its next possession, regained the lead and eventually pulled away after a late fumble set up another scoring opportunity, leaving Los Angeles searching for answers at 0-2 to begin the season.

Despite the disappointing result, the touchdown highlighted the playmaking ability that remains central to the Chargers’ offense. The brief surge demonstrated how quickly Herbert can generate momentum when given time and support, even as Los Angeles now faces the challenge of correcting its mistakes before the season slips further away.
