The Minnesota Vikings improved to 2-0 on Sunday afternoon with a road win over the divisional rival Chicago Bears. The Vikings controlled this game most of the way, but still had to hold on for dear life in the end as backup Bears quarterback Tyler Bagent had a chance to win the game on the last play.

Instead, star Vikings pass rusher Dallas Turner worked his way around tight end Colston Loveland and sacked Bagent, ending the game and giving Minnesota a second straight divisional victory to open up the season.

Turner has wasted little time establishing himself as a star at the NFL level, and that continued in the clutch against the Bears, who had inserted Bagent into the game after starting quarterback Caleb Williams went down with what was later revealed to be a hamstring injury.

Still, even when Williams was healthy, the Vikings did an impressive job of shutting down a Bears offense that had hung over 50 points on the Carolina Panthers last week.

Meanwhile, Carson Wentz, who was starting in place of the injured Kyler Murray, and the Vikings’ offense didn’t provide much to write home about on Sunday, but they didn’t need to, as Minnesota needed just nine points to secure the win.

In any case, Vikings fans have to be happy with the start they’ve seen from their team this season despite the uncertainty at quarterback.

Minnesota will next hit the field on September 27 for a road game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 4:05 pm ET.
