Liverpool have now spent around £600 million on new players over the last couple of seasons.

Unfortunately, these moves didn't fully work out as, with all the injuries that Alexander Isak suffered, he hardly ever got a chance to prove his worth.
On the other hand, Florian Wirtz managed to get into double figures for goal contributions but, aside from that, neither of them really had the desired impact on Liverpool.
So, this led to another decent chunk of change being spent on players in the 2026-27 summer transfer window and resulted in the Reds having an even stronger squad.
However, there are still a couple of areas among their ranks that could do with an upgrade or two so, with the winter window the next one up, it's hardly a surprise to see more players being linked with a move.
Liverpool have sent their scouts to watch Jon Aramburu
Ever since Trent Alexander-Arnold exited Liverpool last summer, the Reds have had a bit of a problem at right-back.
Jeremie Frimpong was signed last summer to try and plug the creative void left by the Englishman.
However, since he kept on getting injured and isn't really strong enough to play in the Premier League, his Liverpool switch has been far from ideal.
The fact that Conor Bradley has been out injured since the middle of last season obviously hasn't helped matters much either.
And, even though Ronald Araujo has done a pretty decent job at right-back so far, since he's only got a year-long loan deal with an option to buy worth €55 million, it's unclear whether or not that will be activated.
So, the latest report from TEAMtalk makes a lot of sense with Real Socidedad's Jon Aramburu being linked with a switch.
"Real Sociedad star Jon Aramburu is emerging as a player of interest to a number of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester City among those keen on the Venezuela international, TEAMtalk can reveal," they wrote.
"Liverpool have also carried out checks on Aramburu, with sources telling us that the reports on the player have been hugely positive.
"The Reds have been monitoring the full-back market and Aramburu’s profile has stood out to their recruitment team, with his defensive ability and versatility viewed as significant strengths.
"Tottenham, Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham also looked at Aramburu during the summer as interest in his services continued to grow."

At the moment, it feels like Liverpool will end up activating the option to buy that they have for Araujo.
The Uruguayan has easily been one of the Reds' best players this season and, without him at right-back, Liverpool's defence would have been much worse off.
He's brought an extra level of stability to the squad but, if for some reason Iraola chooses against signing him next summer, Aramburu would be a good replacement.
The Venuzuelan has been a regular feature for Sociedad for a while now and, last season alone he played 42 games for the La Liga outfit.
TEAMtalk say that a fee worth around £50 million is what would be required to bring him to Liverpool and, while this may be a tad more than Araujo's buy-clause, the fact that he's three years younger makes up for the difference.
Obviously, these are just rumours at the moment but, for now, it certainly feels like the Reds are still looking to improve their squad.
So, if Araujo isn't brought in and Bradley doesn't get back to his best, Aramburu could end up being the perfect player for Liverpool to sign.
