Rugg leads Winamac past Culver 32-14

WINAMAC — Winamac bounced back from an ugly loss to Pioneer with a 32-14 win over Culver on Friday night at Roudebush Field.

Louis Rugg III rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries to lead the Warriors. He had TD runs of 63 and 17 yards in the first quarter and added an 11-yard TD run in the fourth.
Winamac led 14-7 after one, 20-7 at halftime and 20-14 after three.
Ivan Cardenas had 48 yards rushing and two TDs on 11 attempts for WCHS. He had a 49-yard TD run in the second quarter and capped the scoring with a 29-yard TD run in the fourth.
Tearson Wolford added 48 yards on 11 carries. He also caught a 15-yard pass from Xavier Adriano.
Wolford led the Winamac defense with 13 tackles. Michael Shidler had 12 tackles and an interception. Adriano added 10 tackles and Lucas Perez had eight.
Winamac outgained Culver 411-139 in total yardage, including 396-133 on the ground. Winamac won despite being penalized 14 times for 125 yards.
Winamac (3-1, 1-1 HNAC) improved to 2-0 at Roudebush Field. The Warriors host Triton (1-3, 1-1) on Friday. Culver (1-3, 1-1) hosts Class 1A No. 3 North Judson (4-0, 2-0).
