Raiders given ‘B+’ grade for performance in win over Dolphins

The Las Vegas Raiders started their season off the right way. A 27-13 win over the Miami Dolphins came with many highs for the Klint Kubiak-led team, and their overall performance was one that was worthy of commendation.

CBS Sports’ John Breech gave the Raiders a “B+” for their performance against the Dolphins. Which was tied for the tenth best grade given out for Week one.
”Ashton Jeanty only topped 100 yards rushing twice last season and he's already halfway there after just one game. With Brock Bowers out, the Raiders needed Jeanty to carry the offense and that's exactly what he did. Not only did he rush for 102 yards, but he also caught six passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns. If Kirk Cousins can cut down on the interceptions -- he threw two against the Dolphins -- the Raiders offense might be able to surprise some people this year.”
For context, the Minnesota Vikings also got a “B+” for beating the Green Bay Packers 39-22 with Carson Wentz stepping in for the injured Kyler Murray. The playoff-contending Jacksonville Jaguars, who defeated the Cleveland Browns 34-10, got an “A-“ for their big win, which is a good comparison for the Raiders, who also were looked at as being the better team in their matchup against the Dolphins, though Jacksonville had one of the best statement wins of the week.
The Raiders also got production in the sacks department from both of their edge rushers (Maxx Crosby and Kwity Paye), and their offensive line went without allowing a sack in the game, while the team’s other units contributed meaningfully to the quality win. The Raiders have momentum heading into their Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers — a team coming off of an upset 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
