Nebraska quarterback talks about strong connection with wide receiver
· Yahoo Sports
Nebraska football quarterback Anthony Colandrea and wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer have shown a strong connection throughout the first two games of the season. The quarterback talked about that connection following the team’s 56-7 win over Bowling Green on Saturday evening.
Gilmer had six catches for 39 yards and two touchdowns. His performance on Saturday was a continuation of his strong play in the season-opener against Ohio. He also caught a touchdown in that game, making his presence felt early.

Colandrea talked about the benefits of having a playmaker like Gilmer on the field as the Huskers improved to 2-0.
“Kwazi (Gilmer) is a great player. Him, Jacory (Barney Jr.), all those guys. Kwazi does a great job of recognizing what I’m seeing. Just because of watching a lot of tape together. Monday through Friday we watch so much tape together, just to see what I’m seeing. He knows what I’m seeing to react to when I’m out there.”
The early connection is certainly great to see. It’s especially unique, given that both players are transfer portal additions. Big Ten play will be a more revealing benchmark for both parties. Still, it’s exciting to see such a strong connection early and the Huskers' offense ignite.
