Leading sports journalist Robert Marawa has dropped a major announcement regarding Pitso Mosimane to Bafana Bafana. According to Marawa, Mosimane will officially be unveiled as the new Bafana Bafana coach on Tuesday at 12:00.

The announcement would bring an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the vacant position. Mosimane is no stranger to the job.
The decorated coach previously managed the national team between 2010 and 2012. His first spell ended after South Africa failed to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Much has changed since then. The 62-year-old has gone on to become one of the most successful coaches in African football. He won the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016 before claiming the continental title twice with Al Ahly.
His return would therefore see a much more experienced coach take charge of the national team. Recent reports have suggested that the South African Football Association (SAFA) has backed Mosimane to replace Hugo Broos.
BAFANA BAFANA ENTER NEW ERA
The timing of the appointment will be significant. South Africa are coming off a historic 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. The team reached the knockout stages for the first time in the country’s history under Broos.
