Following Dae’Quan Wright, entire Browns roster enters transfer portal

BEREA, OH — After a judge’s ruling gave former Ole Miss tight end Dae’Quan Wright, among others, the option to return to college football and enter the transfer portal, his Cleveland Browns teammates collectively shrugged their shoulders and decided, eh, the portal has to be better than this.

Whether Wright or a roster primarily made up of players multiple years removed from college is allowed to join an NCAA team this fall remains to be seen, but the legal uncertainty is not deterring any of the Browns.
“Bro, I’m 34 years old. I’ve been in the league for 12 years,” said veteran fullback Michael Burton. “Do you think I want to watch us play for the next 4 months?”
Eighth-year linebacker Quincy Williams echoed Burton’s comments. “I mean, look around. Are you seeing all this?,” said Williams while waving his arms like rotating helicopter blades and gesturing at the practice field.
“Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders? Those are our best quarterbacks! Come on, man. Stop it,” said Williams before sighing and slowly walking off the field with a 1,000-yard stare on his face.
First-year head coach Todd Monken briefly spoke with reporters, but declined to comment on his roster dropping to zero players. “The road to the AFC North title still runs through Cleveland,” Monken said.
Browns presided Dave Jenkins said the organization was aware of the entire roster entering the NCAA transfer portal, and they were “monitoring the situation.”
