Vincent Kompany says goal for Bayern Munich this season is to win everything

Bayern Munich were very close to securing yet another historic treble last season, but fell just short in the Champions League, having lost out to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain on aggregate over two legs in the semifinals of the competition. For the Bundesliga, it was business as usual, securing yet another Meisterschale with a blistering record of 28 wins, 5 draws, and only one loss, having scored a record-setting 122 goals from the 34 matches. They also boasted the league’s second best defensive record, having only conceded 36 goals, only seond to Borussia Dortmund’s 34. In the DFB-Pokal, Bayern finally returned to the final and won after what was far too long of a hiatus from the trip to the Olympiastadion in Berlin, but they still want to take it a step further for the 2026/27 campaign.

Speaking on goals for the upcoming season, Vincent Kompany didn’t sugarcoat anything or leave anything up to the imagination. Last season was a massive success, and the brand of football Bayern were playing was an incredible spectacle, so the minimum expectation is the replicate that same level of performances, but Kompany wants to go to the next step and win the Champions League and try to win more matches overall.
“The goals with FC Bayern are always the highest: winning the Bundesliga, winning the Pokal, winning the Champions League – and maybe even winning every game. We’ll definitely be trying to achieve that,” the Belgian manager recently said in an interview with Bayern’s website (via @iMiaSanMia).
On paper, there’s really no reason to suggest Bayern can’t hit the same heights they did last season, and then some. They have lost Leon Goretzka, Raphael Guerreiro, and Nicolas Jackson, but the club have also brought in Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari — both of whom are expected to have significant impacts at the club.
Sure, Bayern might be without Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano and Harry Kane for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Dortmund and perhaps even the Bundesliga opener against VfB Stuttgart due to their extended holidays after making it as far as the World Cup semifinals, but that’s no excuse for Bayern not to get off to a flying start and pickup right where they left off last season as domestic double winners.
