Milwaukee Brewers to play earliest opening day in team history in 2027

Barring a lockout – which almost seems like a certainty, based on recent posturing and reporting – the start of the 2027 season will be the earliest ever for the Milwaukee Brewers with opening day scheduled for March 25 against the Los Angeles Angels at American Family Field.
It will mark the second consecutive season the Brewers open at home. The Angels will be in town for a three-game series (with the traditional off day on the second day of the season, March 26) followed by a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves.

Milwaukee had played its earliest opening day to this point on March 26 this year at home against the Chicago White Sox.
The opener against the Angels will be the Brewers' sixth ever but first since 1996 in Anaheim when they were still the California Angels.
April will feature three road trips for the Brewers – and all of them challenging, with three games at the White Sox and three at the Toronto Blue Jays from April 1-7 (with an off day in Chicago on April 2), three games at the Philadelphia Phillies and three at the New York Yankees from April 16-21 and then finally three at the Chicago Cubs in the rivals’ first 2027 meetings from April 26-28.
Other notables:
- The Brewers host the Cubs in a four-game series from May 17-20, then the two teams don’t meet again until a three-game series at Wrigley Field scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 1 with the Cubs returning to American Family Field a final time Sept. 6-8.
- For the second straight year, the Brewers enter the all-star break with a 10-day road trip beginning July 2 and ending July 11 with four games at the Cincinnati Reds (July 2-5), three at the Washington Nationals (July 6-8) and three at the Cleveland Guardians (July 9-11).
- Once again, as in 2026, Milwaukee comes out of the break with 10 days at home. The Minnesota Twins open the homestand (July 16-18), followed by the Detroit Tigers (July 19-21) and the Miami Marlins (July 22-25).
- The Brewers’ three West Coast trips are June 4-9 (San Diego and Los Angeles Dodgers), July 27-Aug. 1 (Seattle and Colorado) and Aug. 9-15 (San Francisco and Arizona, four games).
- For the first time since 2021, Milwaukee will close the regular season on the road with three games at St. Louis from Sept. 20-22, an off day on Sept. 23 and then three games at Texas on Sept. 24-26.
- Milwaukee plays only 10 NL Central Division games in September compared to 18 this season.
Home and game road times will be announced at a later date, and game dates are subject to change.
