Blue-chip 2028 EDGE George Parkinson IV lists Oregon in final 6

· Yahoo Sports

It's been well-documented how strong the Oregon Ducks' 2027 recruiting class has turned out to be after a flurry of commitments in late June and early July. But head coach Dan Lanning and his staff's attention isn't solely on that group of recruits; it's also on building the next year's recruiting class.

The Ducks have made the final six list for 2028 edge rusher George Parkinson IV, who's listed as a four-star and is the No. 14 EDGE and No. 111 player nationally in his class, per 247Sports Composite. The Malvern, PA, native competes for Malvern Prep. He's the second-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania.

Oregon made the list alongside Penn State, Texas A&M, Ohio State, LSU and Tennessee — a stout group of schools that the Ducks will have to compete against.

Parkinson has also served as a standout tight end for Malvern Prep, but his future will be at the edge rushing position. Standing 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds as a high school sophomore, he has the ideal body type to become an elite player off the edge.

As it stands, the Ducks currently have no commits in the 2028 class. In the 2027 class, they've reeled in commitments from three edge rushers: five-star Rashad Streets, four-star Cameron Pritchett and three-star Josh Christensen.

Soon enough, if he decides to join the Oregon program, Parkinson could add to the blue-chip talent in the edge rushing room.
