Athlon Sports Pre-Season Accolades full of Ole Miss flavor

I remember growing up in the days of waiting for the Athlon Sports Pre-Season magazine to hit the racks at Kroger. It was mostly so that I had names to assign to the numbers on the NCAA football games because my OCD didn’t like playing with QB #10.

While the physical magazine may not be as popular, Athlon Sports is still a big deal and they just released their preseason All-America and All-SEC teams. The Ole Miss Rebels are heavily featured heading into Pete Golding’s first season at the helm.
Here is a list of the players and the honors the received:
Kewan Lacy – First Team All-America & SEC
Lucas Carneiro – Second Team All-America & SEC
Will Echoles – Third Team All-America & Second Team All-SEC
Suntarine Perkins – Third Team All-America & Second Team All-SEC
Patrick Kutas – Fourth Team All-America & Second Team All-SEC
Trinidad Chambliss – Second Team All-SEC
Keaton Thomas – Second Team All-SEC
Deuce Alexander – Third Team All-SEC
Antonio Kite – Third Team All-SEC
Kam Franklin – Third Team All-SEC
Luke Ferrelli – Third Team All-SEC
That is 11 players making the two lists including two players who have yet to play in the SEC or for Ole Miss in Keaton Thomas and Luke Ferrelli.
I would be shocked if Trinidad Chambliss does not finish with an All-American honor, he is certainly the biggest snub of the list.
