We are counting down the top 15 highlights from the last year of Kentucky Wildcats sports, and we have finally reached the No. 1 spot. The top moment of the last year is brought to us from the basketball court and star guard Otega Oweh.

In his two seasons in Lexington, Oweh put together a long list of big plays in big moments. He showed up time and time again in big moments, with none bigger than on the biggest stage of them all at the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
After a disappointing regular season, the Wildcats limped into the postseason and faced a very good Santa Clara team in round one. There were quite a few analysts who thought the Cats would be one-and-done, but Kentucky wasn't quite prepared to go home. They played well, and led late in the game.
Santa Clara fought back, though, and led with a minute to play. Oweh tied things up with 24 seconds left, then things got crazy. With just 2 seconds remaining, Allen Graves hit a devastating three-pointer, and seemingly ended Kentucky's season. Then Oweh took the inbounds near the sideline, took a few steps and heaved a shot from mid-court that miraculously found the bottom of the net, sending it to overtime.
It was one of the most memorable moments of the tournament, and was replayed endlessly throughout the rest of the postseason. The crowd exploded, as did teammates, and even announcers. Kentucky went on to win in overtime, making it an even bigger shot, and one of the biggest in recent school history. It was an easy choice for the top spot.
