Four-star tight end Anthony Cartwright III has announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. He chose the Ducks over LSU, Miami, Michigan and Michigan State.
Cartwright will join five-star wideout Dakota Guerrant in Oregon’s class, who the Ducks also pulled out of the state of Michigan this month. Oregon’s recruiting power deep in Big Ten country is on full display.

"It's been a long time coming," Cartwright said after his commitment. "I feel like my relationship and the situation there is best for me, especially because coach Drew (Mehringer) is the OC now, so we're going to make some noise and bring a natty to Eugene."
The Ducks hosted Cartwright for his final official visit, and it only seemed to cement his status as a future Duck further. The 6-foot-5 pass catcher was able to connect with Oregon quarterback commit Will Mencl during the visit, as well as Oregon targets like five-star receiver Xavier Sabb.
Cartwright is a multi-sport athlete, playing football, baseball and basketball in Detroit, which is something the Ducks typically covet in a recruit. The Ducks also look for size at tight end, which Cartwright has. Kendre Harrison (6-foot-7) and Andrew Olesh (6-foot-5) could serve as a blueprint this season for Cartwright to watch as they back up Jamari Johnson (6-foot-5). Cartwright is the No. 16 tight end in the 2027 recruiting class.
With former tight ends coach Drew Mehringer now driving the Oregon offense, Cartwright has a good feel for the direction the Ducks are moving and how tight ends will be used in the future.
Oregon has been viewed as the leader for Cartwright for a long time, but it was still a challenge to pull him away from in-state programs like Michigan and Michigan State.
The Ducks will add Cartwright to a class that ranks No. 9 nationally, per Rivals, and the program could add even more soon, with multiple big targets set to commit on July 1.
