Sims, who will turn 28 years old by the start of the season, averaged 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 points mostly in a reserve role last season. Both marks were career highs for the five-year pro.
Sims had a 20-rebound game April 1 and had 12 games with at least 10 rebounds. He also recorded six double-doubles.
The Bucks acquired Sims from New York at the 2025 trade deadline in a four-team trade that sent Khris Middleton to Washington.
