Eisfelder becomes the 14th Tennessee player to enter the transfer portal this cycle and seventh from the 2025 recruiting class. He was in line to compete for a starting spot in Tennessee's outfield next season with right fielder Reese Chapman graduating and center fielder Garrett Wright eligible for the MLB draft. Backup center fielder Jay Abernathy is also transferring.

Notable departures from the infield include starting shortstop Manny Marin and backup Ariel Antigua, as well as utility player Chris Newstrom.

Relief pitchers Brayden Krenzel and Taylor Tracey are also transferring from a staff that will be under new leadership after coach Josh Elander moved on from pitching coach Josh Reynolds after one season and hired East Carolina's Austin Knight to replace him.

Eisfelder made four starts, including two in the SEC Tournament when Chapman was out with an injury. He hit .192 with two home runs and nine RBIs, one coming on a double in the first round of the SEC Tournament against South Carolina.

Eisfelder, who attended IMG Academy in Florida but is from Johnson City, was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 100 overall prospect in the nation in the class of 2025 and the No. 3 player from Tennessee.
