The Toronto Blue Jays couldn't have imagined that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. would be having this kind of season right now.
Somehow, Vladdy's power has almost entirely disappeared.
There's a statistic called isolated power that isn't perfect but does represent what's happened with Guerrero pretty well.
Isolated power simply takes the difference between the batting average and slugging percentage.
The more extra-base hits you get, the more your slugging percentage is going to differ from your batting average.
You'd have an isolated power of .000 if every hit you had was a single.
Anyway, Vladdy has the worst isolated power on the Blue Jays among qualified hitters. He's at just .090, hardly slugging better than he's hitting.
The whole chart really emphasizes it, because Guerrero is behind some guys who really, really aren't power hitters:
Of the ten qualified Blue Jays with a minimum of 100 plate appearances in 2026, Vladimir Guerrero Jr ranks dead last in terms of isolated power. He's getting outslugged by Myles Straw, Andrés Gímenez, and Ernie Clement.

Guerrero is supposed to be in his prime. He had a postseason for the ages. And somehow, he hasn't figured this out as the season rolls into June.
Yeah, on the one hand, there's a lot of time left.
On the other hand, Vladdy's struggles are a big reason why the Blue Jays haven't been better this season. Every team has a guy they rely on to set the tone. For Toronto, it's Guerrero, and the lack of power is keeping the Blue Jays from finding a groove.
