How Brazil could line up vs Morocco
Brazil have a lot of big names to choose from, so Ancelotti might have one or two tricky calls to make for his starting XI.
There is particular strength in depth in attack, but one imagines it might be tricky even for big names like Neymar, Matheus Cunha, and Igor Thiago to start most games.
If everyone’s fit, it’s easy to imagine Brazil’s best XI would look something like the one below…
Brazil predicted line-up: Alisson; Wesley, Sandro, Gabriel, Marquinhos; Casemiro, Guimaraes, Paqueta; Raphinha, Cunha, Vinicius.
Brazil vs Morocco head-to-head record
These teams have met only three times, and only once at the World Cup.
Overall, the record stands at two wins for Brazil and one for Morocco, with their only other World Cup meeting coming in the 1998 tournament, when Ronaldo and co. won 3-0.
Still, their most recent game was in 2023 and ended in a win for Morocco, who showed they could be a force in this competition by reaching the semi-finals four years ago.
Can Brazil win the World Cup?
Brazil hold the record for the most World Cup victories, winning this tournament a total of five times, though it’s been harder for them in more recent history.
Brazil’s last World Cup triumph came in 2002, and since then they’ve only made it past the quarter-finals once, which ended in utter humiliation for them with that 7-1 defeat to Germany in 2014.
With an experienced winner like Ancelotti now in charge of their national team, perhaps Brazil can improve this year, but the truth is that their squad doesn’t look as strong as the likes of Spain, France or England, while others like current holders Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal will also be serious contenders.
