Bayern Munich head into the summer transfer window off the heels of what was a standard season for the Bavarian giants, winning out the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, while falling short in the semi-finals of the Champions League, getting knocked out by eventual tournament winners Paris Saint-Germain.

The German champions are looking to bolster their defense

It appears that among their transfer targets sits PSV Eindhoven and the United States Men’s National Team fullback Sergino Dest, with the German side’s interest being reported by Dutch outlet Eindhovens Dagblad.

The American defender has been in the Netherlands for three seasons at this point, having won the Dutch top flight, Eredivisie, in each of his three campaigns with PSV. In his most recent season, Dest would take to the pitch 33 times, recording seven goal involvements, as well as 19 interceptions and 39 won tackles.

It could be for these numbers that the Bavarian giants are interested in acquiring his services, as well as his expansive Champions League experience, appearing in 34 matches over the course of his eight-season career. All of this has put a price tag in the region of € 25 million, as reported by ESPN.

Bayern Munich isn’t the first Bundesliga club to show interest in the American defender, as a few years back, FC Union Berlin showed interest in acquiring Dest, ahead of their Champions League debut.

Given that Dest was included in Mauricio Pochettino’s 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, any movement on the transfer could wait, as has been the case for some other higher-profile moves.
