After taking a 1-0 series lead in the NBA Finals, Brunson praised Hart for his energy and relentless effort.
"His energy is relentless, it doesn't stop - he eats candy all the time. He's a big kid with an absurd amount of energy," Brunson said.
Hart had himself a contest in his NBA Finals debut.
On Wednesday, to help lead his Knicks to a Game 1 win, Hart recorded 15 rebounds, six assists and four steals to become the first player since Larry Bird in 1986 to record those numbers in an NBA Finals game.
Josh Hart shrugs off Larry Bird comparisons after win
After the game, the 31-year-old paid no mind to being put in the same conversation as Bird.
"I don't really don't care about it, honestly," Hart said.
All he cares about is getting the win.
"I'm happy we got the win. Happy I was able to impact the game. Obviously, I had a couple of shots that I felt good about that didn't go in.
"How I play the game, it goes far beyond made shots, it goes far beyond box scores. Glory to God, he was able to strengthen me in moments of weakness and I was able to just go out there and just hoop."
Hart will now look to do his part on Friday night and lead the Knicks to a 2-0 series lead after already stealing home court advantage.
Game 2 tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
