England Women produced a stunning batting display to defeat India Women by six wickets in the third and final T20I at Taunton, sealing the three-match series 2-1 ahead of the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl, England faced a daunting target of 181 runs. India posted a competitive 180/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to a captain's knock from Harmanpreet Kaur, who remained unbeaten on 56. Valuable contributions from Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma helped India finish strongly and put the hosts under pressure.

England's chase got off to a shaky start as they slumped to 38/3 inside the powerplay. However, what followed was a match-winning partnership that completely changed the contest. Alice Capsey played one of the finest innings of her international career, smashing 82 runs off just 43 deliveries. She found an ideal partner in former captain Heather Knight, who remained unbeaten on 70 and registered her fastest T20I half-century.

The duo added a remarkable 137 runs for the fourth wicket, guiding England to 184/4 with nine balls to spare. The chase became England's highest successful T20I run chase in eight years and one of their best batting performances in recent times.

Capsey's aggressive strokeplay earned her the Player of the Match award, while the victory handed England a crucial confidence boost ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup. England head coach Charlotte Edwards praised the team's composure under pressure and highlighted Capsey's continued development as a key player in the squad.

Despite the defeat, India showed plenty of positives, particularly through Harmanpreet's unbeaten half-century and a strong overall batting effort. However, England's record-breaking partnership ultimately proved the difference in a high-scoring series decider.
