Mandatory minicamp is in full effect, and the Pittsburgh Steelers brought in several NFL veterans and other players for tryouts — including a former Green Bay Packers standout tight end.

On Tuesday, PennLive’s Nick Farabaugh reported that the Steelers brought in five players for tryouts: tight end Robert Tonyan, linebacker Jamin Davis, wide receiver Trayvon Rudolph, linebacker Amari Burney, and punter James Platte.
The Steelers are hosting five veteran players for tryouts, including former Packers TE Robert Tonyan and Commanders LB Jamin Davis.

In addition, three more players —
WR Trayvon Rudolph

P James Platte
Of these five players, Tonyan and Davis are the most notable, with the two veterans playing in a combined 163 games throughout their NFL careers.
Tonyan, who caught 11 touchdowns during Aaron Rodgers’ third MVP campaign in 2020, has previously played for the Packers, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Davis, who was a multi-year starter for the Commanders to begin his NFL career, recorded 290 combined tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and eight sacks in his five-year NFL career.
