Texas A&M to enter Battle 4 Atlantis, leaving Players Era Festival

· Yahoo Sports

The Texas A&M basketball team will no longer spend Thanksgiving in Las Vegas, instead traveling to the more family-friendly Bahamas after the program announced a change in its midseason tournament plans.

Luke Evangelist of TexAgs reported that the Aggies will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis, an 8-team tournament hosted at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort. While all teams play three games, the tournament is single-elimination. Teams that lose enter the losers' bracket, while the winners advance until a single champion remains. Texas A&M competed in the Battle 4 Atlantis once before in 2015, when the team finished as runner-up after defeating Texas and #10 Gonzaga.

The program was initially scheduled to attend the Players Era Festival, but after enrolling, the tournament reduced the number of contestants in the 2026 iteration from the previously planned 32 teams to a mere 24. This left the Aggies with a hole in their schedule, prompting the team to find a new Multi-Team Event to participate in.
