In the tribute, Verse spoke about how much his mom means to him, how often they talk, the support she has shown for her son over the years, and much more.

Verse has credited his mother for helping guide him through a wild collegiate journey. Starting out at the University of Albany in 2019, Verse would transfer to Florida State in 2022. After a breakout season, Verse could have declared for the draft as he was considered a first-round pick.
Instead, he returned, teamed up with Braden Fiske, and helped the Seminoles achieve a 12-0 regular-season record and an ACC Championship, before declaring for the draft after Florida State was excluded from the College Football Playoffs.
That exclusion was a massive factor in the Rams landing Verse and Fiske in the 2024 NFL Draft. Something that wouldn't have happened if not for the guidance, support, and vision of Jannienne Jones Verse.
