Loyola has hired former Kansas associate head coach Morgan Paige to be its new women’s basketball coach.

Paige was at Kansas for five seasons, helping the Jayhawks to 104 wins and postseason appearances in four of the seasons. Before that, she was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at North Dakota State and a grad assistant at Iowa State.

“Morgan is a proven leader with a championship mindset and a strong commitment to student-athlete development,” Loyola athletic director Steve Watson said in a statement. “We are confident she will build on our recent successes and elevate Loyola women’s basketball to new heights.”

Paige played four seasons at Wisconsin, finishing with 1,230 career points and earning all-Big Ten third team honors in 2013. She played professionally in Romania.

She replaces Allison Guth, who resigned after four seasons with a 50-75 record to spend more time with her family.

Paige called the job a “dream turned reality” in a statement.

“We aspire to take the next step in establishing Loyola Chicago as a consistent competitor in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while remaining committed to developing high-character young women who make an impact in their community,” she said.
