Iowa State at Baylor

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: FS1
Consensus Line: Baylor -9.5, o/u: 50.5
Baylor found its offense last week in a 41-9 win over UCF, and Iowa State shocked Oklahoma State with a 51-49 win. The Cyclone offense doesn’t do enough on the road, Baylor found a spark after the coaching change. The Bears will have a fight for three quarters before pulling away late.
Prediction: Baylor 37, Iowa State 27

Clemson at Syracuse

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN2
Consensus Line: Clemson -2.5, o/u: 49.5
Syracuse found its groove again with QB Steve Angeli getting hot at just the right time. Clemson can’t seem to find any rhythm to its season, but it’s been decent on the road. The Tiger defense makes it a fight, but the Orange capitalize on two key Tiger turnovers to keep the winning streak going.
Prediction: Syracuse 26, Clemson 24

Florida State at Boston College

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Florida State -6.5, o/u: 52.5
Not to knock anyone while they’re down – massive payouts aside – but Florida State should be better with Rick Stockstill at the helm, even if the former Seminole quarterback is being thrown into a tough situation. Boston College’s offense is sputtering, and the FSU defense will take over early. New coach energy has been a thing this year, and it’ll happen in this, too – the FSU offense will be sharp late.
Prediction: Florida State 30, Boston College 24

North Carolina at UConn

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: CBS Sports Network
Consensus Line: North Carolina -7.5, o/u: 54.5
North Carolina doesn’t seem to know how to play an uninteresting game. Its last four have all been decided by four points or fewer, and the loss to Notre Dame was the only one against an FBS team that wasn’t close. Now the Tar Heels will finally get a bit of a breather, even if it takes a bit to get there.
Prediction: North Carolina 34, UConn 20

Tulsa at Tulane

Game Time: 12:00 PM ET
TV: ESPNU
Consensus Line: Tulsa -2.5, o/u: 50.5
Tulane has been hit-or-miss offensively, but it won’t have any problems against a Tulsa defense that’s way too leaky in key situations. The Golden Hurricane will bail out the other side with a great late rally in a thriller.
Prediction: Tulsa 34, Tulane 30

Rutgers at Wisconsin

Game Time: 12:30 PM ET
TV: Big Ten Network
Consensus Line: Wisconsin -18.5, o/u: 45.5
True freshman Ryan Hopkins will fill in for banged-up Wisconsin starting quarterback Colton Joseph. It won’t matter – the Badger defense will take over early, the running game will be fine, and the new guy will hit a few key throws to make everything else work.
Prediction: Wisconsin 31, Rutgers 10

Duke at NC State

Game Time: 12:30 PM ET
TV: CW
Consensus Line: Duke -4.5, o/u: 51.5
The storyline will be all about the speculation of who the new NC State head coach will be, but the real story will be a Duke team that’s very, very quietly lurking in the ACC title chase once again. The defense will do just enough to overcome an offense that will struggle a bit. NC State will play well for interim head coach Todd Goebbel, but it’ll fall just short – Duke will come up with one big final stop.
Prediction: Duke 28, NC State 23
Iowa St at Baylor | Clem at Syr | FSU at BC

Maryland at Purdue

Game Time: 12:30 PM ET
TV: Big Ten Network
Consensus Line: Purdue -5.5, o/u: 57.5
Purdue looked like everything was kicking into gear with wins over Illinois and Minnesota, and then the defense collapsed in losses to Washington and Penn State. That’s what Maryland is for. The team is playing for kicks now, with a coaching change the big story, but it’ll come up with just enough offense to keep this from getting ugly.
Prediction: Purdue 38, Maryland 20

Arkansas at Auburn

Game Time: 12:45 PM ET
TV: SEC Network
Consensus Line: 10.5, o/u: 53.5
So what shows up, an Auburn defense that’s usually good, but is just coming off a murderer’s row of excellent SEC teams, or the offense that hasn’t been able to quite open it up yet? Both. Arkansas won’t get the points going early, the Auburn attack will finally work at the pace it wants to, and this all starts to look like it’s supposed to as the Tigers go on a run – they’ll beat Mississippi State next week and Samford to follow.
Prediction: Auburn 34, Arkansas 20

Old Dominion at Coastal Carolina

Game Time: 1:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Coastal Carolina -6.5, o/u: 45.5
The Old Dominion woes continue against a Coastal Carolina that’s just now starting to figure out how to win. Chanticleer games are almost always close, but the Monarchs don’t know how to/can’t score in key situations.
Prediction: Coastal Carolina 30, Old Dominion 16

Oklahoma State at Kansas State

Game Time: 1:00 PM ET
TV: TNT
Consensus Line: Oklahoma State -6.5, o/u: 62.5
Oklahoma State was about to start making some real noise in the Big 12, and then the defense couldn’t come up with a stop in the wild 51-49 loss to Iowa State. The road problems stop against a Kansas State team without starting quarterback Avery Johnson, who’s out with a neck injury. The Wildcat will still score, but the Cowboy attack will be too relentless.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 37, Kansas State 30

Georgia State at App State

Game Time: 2:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: App State -6.5, o/u: 54.5
Just when it seemed like App State was going to take over the Sun Belt, it didn’t show up against Georgia Southern. Back at home, it’ll get it back against a Georgia State team that collapsed over the last three weeks. The Panther defensive problems continue.
Prediction: App State 31, Georgia State 24

ULM at Arkansas State

Game Time: 3:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Arkansas State -14.5, o/u: 52.5
The ULM fun from the win over Troy a few weeks ago went away in a 35-21 loss to Southern Miss. Now things will be far worse against an Arkansas State team that’s slowly been pushing itself back into the Sun Belt mix. The Red Wolves’ offense will go off.
Prediction: Arkansas State 34, ULM 20
Iowa St at Baylor | Clem at Syr | FSU at BC
UNC at UConn | Tulsa at Tulane | Rut at Wisc
Duke at NC St | MD at Purdue | Ark at Auburn
ODU at CCU | Ok St at KSt | Ga St at App St

Wyoming at UNLV

Delaware at Kennesaw State

Game Time: 3:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Delaware -1.5, o/u: 57.5
The Delaware offense has its groove back, but is Kennesaw State back to form after finally looking like it was supposed to in a 44-28 win over Middle Tennessee? Yeah, the Owl offense will keep things moving, but the defense won’t be able to hold up its end of the deal.
Prediction: Delaware 38, Kennesaw State 20

Merrimack at Wake Forest

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Wake Forest -46.5, o/u: 58.5
The Warriors of Merrimack have been fun lately. They play tough, low scoring games with an offense that’s decent at keeping the tempo at the speed it needs and … Wake Forest will score as much as it wants to.
Prediction: Wake Forest 56, Merrimack 3

Charlotte at UAB

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: UAB -8.5, o/u: 47.5
Charlotte has started to play far, far better. The offense perked up over the last few weeks, but the defense is still a problem. UAB is a far different team at home, and it’ll show right away with a big first quarter all but putting this away early.
Prediction: UAB 38, Charlotte 17

Temple at Navy

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: CBS Sports Network
Consensus Line: Navy -7.5, o/u: 54.5
Didn’t you used to be Navy? It’s not a bad team, it just doesn’t seem to know how to do anything in key moments. That’s what Temple is for. The Owls don’t have the scoring pop to help out a defense that will hold up reasonably well for about a half against the Midshipmen attack.
Prediction: Navy 31, Temple 23

Cincinnati at Houston

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: FOX
Consensus Line: Houston -10.5, o/u: 61.5
Don’t forget about Houston. The world will be focusing on BYU at Utah, and Texas Tech needs to show up against West Virginia, and Arizona pulled off something special against TCU, but Houston only has two losses, and it’s deep in the Big 12 title chase.

The Cougars will have to deal with the Cincinnati pace, but it’ll methodically keep on winning in an entertaining game before the monster games of the day get going.
Prediction: Houston 37, Cincinnati 27

Marshall at Georgia Southern

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Georgia Southern -8.5, o/u: 54.5
Where did this come from, Georgia Southern? Just when it seems like it was a lost season, the program of all offense and no defense suddenly stepped it up, and it’s now back in the mix for a bowl game. Marshall’s defense will keep this close, but the offense that’s struggling to score will stall a bit too often in the first half.
Prediction: Georgia Southern 28, Marshall 20
Iowa St at Baylor | Clem at Syr | FSU at BC
UNC at UConn | Tulsa at Tulane | Rut at Wisc
Duke at NC St | MD at Purdue | Ark at Auburn
ODU at CCU | Ok St at KSt | Ga St at App St
ULM at Ark St | Del at Ken St | Merr at Wake
Char at UAB | Temple at Navy | Cin at UH
Mars at Ga South | WKU at MT | Rice at UNT
UCF at KU | NIU at SJSU | Missouri St at FIU
LT at Troy | Van at Miss St | USA at Louisiana
Boise at Col St | SHSU at Jax St | Col at ASU
UofL at GT | AF at Army | Liberty at NMSU
Fres at Utah St | UH at UTEP | TXSt at Ore St
Wyoming at UNLV

Western Kentucky at Middle Tennessee

Game Time: 3:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Western Kentucky -2.5, o/u: 53.5
This Western Kentucky team is so maddening. It has the parts to be far better than it has shown, but it just can’t put anything consistently together. Middle Tennessee’s breakthrough season hit a snag last week against a bad Kennesaw State team, but it’s about to get back on track – it’ll be more like Western Kentucky will sputter when it counts.
Prediction: Middle Tennessee 30, Western Kentucky 24

Rice at North Texas

Game Time: 4:00 PM ET
TV: ESPNU
Consensus Line: North Texas -16.5, o/u: 64.5
Rice gave it everything it had in the wild 51-49 loss to Florida Atlantic, and the running game will work at times against North Texas. The Owl defense won’t be even close. Enjoy the points.
Prediction: North Texas 47, Rice 30

UCF at Kansas

Game Time: 3:45 PM ET
TV: ESPN2
Consensus Line: Kansas -3.5, o/u: 48.5
Kansas is way overdue to get the offense going. It got a break in the gloom with a win over Baylor a few weeks ago, but it couldn’t handle the TCU defense last week. UCF couldn’t keep the momentum going after the BYU win and collapsed at home against Baylor. The offense will sputter again in Lawrence.
Prediction: Kansas 27, UCF 21

Northern Illinois at San Jose State

Game Time: 4:00 PM ET
TV: Mountain West
Consensus Line: San Jose State -11.5, o/u: 52.5
And then there was one. It stinks that Northern Illinois is the only team that hasn’t won a game yet – it was thrown into a rough situation, and it’s trying. It just doesn’t have the defense, but it gave UNLV a game last week. At 4-5, San Jose State is still in the mix for a bowl game, and it’ll finally get to open it up a bit after a rough few weeks for the offense.
Prediction: San Jose State 34, Northern Illinois 23

Missouri State at FIU

Game Time: 4:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: FIU -4.5, o/u: 49.5
Missouri State is great against the blah teams, but the defense hasn’t been close against the decent Conference USA attacks. FIU’s offense doesn’t open it up, and it won’t have to. The defense will take care of this.
Prediction: FIU 27, Missouri State 16

Louisiana Tech at Troy

Game Time: 4:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Louisiana Tech -6.5, o/u: 47.5
Will the Troy that shut down James Madison cold keep it going against a hot Louisiana Tech team that’s roaring through the Sun Belt? No. The Trojans will struggle to get the offense moving, the Bulldogs will always seem like they’re on the Trojan side of the field, and one of the better stories among the Group of Six will continue.
Prediction: Louisiana Tech 30, Troy 17

Vanderbilt at Mississippi State

Game Time: 4:15 PM ET
TV: SEC Network
Consensus Line: Mississippi State -2.5, o/u: 48.5
Mississippi State’s offense has crashed with Kamario Taylor out, but there’s another problem – those SEC teams on the other side of the field over the last few weeks were good on D. That’s not an issue with a Vanderbilt team that will be okay on the defensive side, but won’t take advantage of any of its scoring opportunities. The MSU defense will take the win.
Prediction: Mississippi State 28, Vanderbilt 21

South Alabama at Louisiana

Game Time: 5:00 PM ET
TV: ESPN+
Consensus Line: Louisiana -7.5, o/u: 56.5
Can South Alabama get out of its funk in time to save its season? The offense has stalled over the last few weeks, and it’ll get going a bit against a Ragin’ Cajun team that’s solid at home, but it has to be night-and-day better than it was in last week’s unfocused 35-31 loss at Southern Miss.
Prediction: Louisiana 31, South Alabama 26
Iowa St at Baylor | Clem at Syr | FSU at BC
UNC at UConn | Tulsa at Tulane | Rut at Wisc
Duke at NC St | MD at Purdue | Ark at Auburn

Boise State at Colorado State

Game Time: 6:00 PM ET
TV: USA Network
Consensus Line: Boise State -16.5, o/u: 68.5
Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen is out after hurting his knee last week in the win over Texas State. It won’t matter. Colorado State just gave up two touchdowns in the time it took you to read this.
Prediction: Boise State 48, Colorado State 21

Sam Houston at Jacksonville State

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET
TV: CBS Sports Network
Consensus Line: Jacksonville State -16.5, o/u: 45.5
If Jacksonville State really is a threat to take the Conference USA title, this is the type of game the Gamecocks have to take down with ease. The Bearkats weren’t able to get any sort of a boost after the coaching change, and they’ll still struggle offensively.
Prediction: Jacksonville State 35, Sam Houston 10

Colorado at Arizona State

Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
TV: ESPN2
Consensus Line: Arizona State -3.5, o/u: 48.5
Lost in all the blah of a rough Colorado season is how it’s actually playing relatively well here and there. It’s not consistent in any way, but it showed up large in a 27-24 win over Kansas State last week. Arizona State’s defense settled in a bit, but it’ll still be in for a battle. Colorado will have a shot, but the final drive will stall.
Prediction: Arizona State 27, Colorado 21

Louisville at Georgia Tech

Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
TV: ACC Network
Consensus Line: Louisville -14.5, o/u: 62.5
Georgia Tech’s offense just can’t get going. The defense hasn’t even been close – this is all about the focus of the Louisville offense. One first half microburst of Cardinal points will put this away.
Prediction: Louisville 38, Georgia Tech 24

Air Force at Army

Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
TV: CBS
Consensus Line: Army -3.5, o/u: 43.5
This game is always, always, freakishly low scoring. Both teams know how to control the clock and the tempo. Both get what the other side does to move the ball, and this is always a tough battle that comes down to one late scoring march. Army will make it four in a row over the Falcons.
Prediction: Army 16, Air Force 14

Liberty at New Mexico State

Game Time: 8:00 PM ET
TV: ESPNU
Consensus Line: Liberty -15.5, o/u: 46.5
Liberty has been flying under the radar as a possible Group of Six champion for the CFP. It’s destroying everyone in its path. The defense has been a rock no matter where it plays, and New Mexico State’s attack won’t be able to control the tempo enough to stop the steady Flame offensive production.
Prediction: Liberty 34, New Mexico State 13

Fresno State at Utah State

Game Time: 9:30 PM ET
TV: USA Network
Consensus Line: Fresno State -1.5, o/u: 43.5
Will the real Fresno State please stand up? It gave Boise State all it could handle in a tough loss, melted down in a weird loss at San Diego State, and was fantastic in a win over Oregon State. Utah State doesn’t have the offense to come back after the Bulldogs get the passing attack moving.
Prediction: Fresno State 24, Utah State 20

Hawaii at UTEP

Game Time: 9:30 PM ET
TV: FS1
Consensus Line: Hawaii -7.5, o/u: 48.5
UTEP just can’t figure out how to get this offense going. Hawaii might be sputtering and coughing, but score a few touchdowns, and the Miners won’t be able to respond. Utah State’s offense isn’t enough to pull this off.
Prediction: Hawaii 31, UTEP 17

Texas State at Oregon State

Game Time: 10:30 PM ET
TV: CW
Consensus Line: Oregon State -6.5, o/u: 70.5
Points, points, points, points, points. Oregon State will get back on track after a rough 38-22 loss at Fresno State. Texas State will keep the offense going after a wild failed comeback attempt against Boise State, but the defense is about to have a very, very long day. This will be wild.
Prediction: Oregon State 44, Texas State 37

Wyoming at UNLV

Game Time: 10:30 PM ET
TV: CBS Sports Network
Consensus Line: UNLV -4.5, o/u: 48.5
Wyoming has quietly gotten hot with three wins thanks to a little bit of offense. The defense and overall style continue to be enough to push past the meh teams – although the 28-14 win over Air Force was great – but it’s about to deal with a UNLV squad that’s about to wake up after sleepwalking over the last few weeks.
Prediction: UNLV 26, Wyoming 20
