Green Bay Packers face scrutiny for how they handled Christian Watson’s injury vs. Carolina Panthers
· Yahoo Sports
Christian Watson was one of the biggest talking points in the Green Bay Packers‘ 27-19 Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers, as he came back from a serious rib injury to finish with a team-high 113 receiving yards on eight catches (10 targets).
While this was a feel-good story for many, others have taken issue with how the Green Bay Packers handled Watson’s injury, given that the NFL continues to deal with fallout from the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts situation, where the one-time Super Bowl MVP was discovered to have blood clots.

“He broke a rib, and was spitting up blood, and he came back and played in the game? Are you effing kidding me? After what we just saw and the s**t storm the NFL is still dealing with with Jalen Hurts, they took this guy to the hospital because he was spitting up blood and had a broken rib,” Florio stated. “I mean, is this real life? Is this AI? Am I in a matrix here? It makes no sense after what they went through with Jalen Hurts that they would let Christian Watson go back into that game.”

Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney said that Watson’s resiliency certainly earned their respect.
“He had his 100 yards (before the injury), and he could’ve just sat it. But the fact that he wasn’t satisfied, and the fact that he felt like, and he knew that we still needed him out there, and he still said, ‘OK, I love this team, and I want to be able to go out here for this team and do that,’ that gains our respect,” McKinney said of Watson.
