Video reveals Patrick Mahomes' growing frustration with Chiefs rookie

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes put together a remarkable performance in the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos, completing 30 of 41 pass attempts for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception.

But Mahomes' wide receivers had little to do with his exceptional outing. Veteran pass-catcher Rashee Rice caught seven passes for 53 yards and found the end zone once, but the rest of Kansas City's wideouts combined for just 37 yards on six receptions.
At one point during the television broadcast, Mahomes could be seen reacting to a poor effort by rookie receiver Cyrus Allen, who seemed to have given up on a play in which the two-time MVP delivered a perfectly thrown pass that looked catchable in slow motion:

While it is unclear if Mahomes' unmistakably irritated mannerisms were directed singularly at Allen, one thing is clear: the Chiefs' offensive dysfunction can be traced back to the consistently lackluster showings of Kansas City's receiving corps.
