The Rams bucked a slow start, with Matthew Stafford throwing 17-of-25 for 157 yards and one touchdown, and Puka Nacua getting 11 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown.

After the encouraging performance, Nacua stressed that the Rams can still turn it up a notch, especially on offense, and go on a hot streak, according to the Los Angeles Daily News’ Adam Grosbard.

“This is something that we gotta be able to continue to build upon, but it’s not something that we can exhale from. There’s still a lot of improvement. If our defense is playing their butts off like that, we gotta be able to go out there and play complementary football,” said the 25-year-old wide receiver.

The Rams lead the league with 411 yards per game. They average 24.3 points per outing, which is 10th in the NFL.

The offense looked lethargic at the outset against the Chargers, failing to get a first down on their first five drives for the first time under coach Sean McVay. They went into the halftime break with a one-point lead, 10-9.

The defense held down the fort, shutting down the Chargers in the second half. Justin Herbert finished 24-of-32 for zero touchdowns and two interceptions. He was sacked twice.

The Rams won back-to-back games for the first time since January, beating the Las Vegas Raiders, 35-21, in Week 7.

They will try to maintain their winning streak when they visit the Washington Commanders in Week 9.
