Alexander Sorloth was one of the players Luciano Spalletti wanted Juventus to sign last summer, but the Norwegian striker started the season injured, and the Old Lady decided it would not make sense to pursue the deal.
Instead, Juventus signed Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade, with the latter arriving on loan from Newcastle United. However, the Bianconeri have not received the contribution they wanted from either forward, leaving Spalletti keen to explore other options as he looks to improve his attack.
The January transfer window could provide an opportunity to address the situation. According to Tuttojuve, Spalletti remains keen to work with Sorloth and wants Juventus to make another attempt to bring him to Turin.
Spalletti wants Juventus to sign Sorloth
The Norway international is not receiving much playing time at Atletico Madrid at the moment, and Juventus could use that situation to their advantage. The Bianconeri would be prepared to offer him more regular opportunities, which could help convince him to make the move.
However, increased playing time would not necessarily guarantee Sorloth a starting position. He would still need to demonstrate in training that he offers more than the attacking options currently available to Spalletti.
The Old Lady believe they have what it takes to compete for his signature, but convincing the player to leave Atletico Madrid will be an important part of any potential deal. The manager’s reported insistence on signing him suggests that the striker remains a priority.

Ekhator could be sent out on loan
Jeff Ekhator could be fit again soon, but Juventus may feel that his development would benefit from regular playing time elsewhere. Sending him out on loan could give him the opportunity to gain experience rather than remain in his current situation.
That would also create room for Sorloth to join the squad and compete for a place in the attack. Juventus would still need to convince the Norwegian to make the switch, but his limited playing time in Spain could give them an opening.
