The AFC North race reaches fever pitch as October draws to a close

· Yahoo Sports

The AFC North race continues to heat up in dramatic fashion as all four teams in the division wrap up their Week 7 slates.

The Browns narrowly knocked off the Titans with a walk-off field goal while the Steelers won the first-ever NFL game in Paris against the Saints on Sunday, both moving to 5-2 on the season. Meanwhile, the Bengals dominated the Ravens in a divisional showdown. And with the season nearing its midway point, the AFC North is looking like one of the best – and most exciting – divisions in the NFL.

All eyes on Browns vs. Steelers showdown in Week 8

The Browns and the Steelers are tied in record, but the Browns hold the divisional lead with a head-to-head win over Pittsburgh on October 1. The Bengals also have just two losses, 4-2; they lost to the Steelers but haven't played Cleveland yet this season.

Now, all eyes in the NFL will likely be on Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh next Sunday, as the Steelers and Browns clash in a game that will determine the outright divisional leaders as both teams head into mid-season. The Steelers have won three straight games since that loss to the Browns, while the Browns have won two straight after falling to the Jets on October 11.

The Bengals will also have a prime opportunity to move to 5-2 next week as they face the Titans, who have won just one game this season. And don't count out the Ravens. They may have lost two straight games with Lamar Jackson sidelined, but he's one of the league's most dangerous quarterbacks and will be back sooner rather than later.

With two divisional losses, the Ravens are still just two away from an outright lead, and they'll have plenty of time to make up ground with Jackson healthy. The AFC North may be one of the divisions to watch in the second half of the season.
