The Wolfpack punched their ticket for the weekend by defeating Bolles 25-19, 25-23, 25-10 in the Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-3A volleyball quarterfinals on Oct. 20.
Whenever Wolfson needed a key point, Porter usually wasn't far away, smashing kill after kill with intensity at the net to continue her excellent season. She recorded 21 kills against Bolles in the district final on Oct. 15.
Bolles (14-11) built leads of 13-9 and 22-19 in the second set, but Monica Mina triggered a 5-0 run to swing the momentum back the Wolfpack's way. The Wolfpack (20-6) wrapped up the second and dominated the third to eliminate the Bulldogs for the second consecutive year.
"We switched up the rotations a little bit in the last few games, and we found it [the right rhythm]," Wolfpack coach Brianna Kerley said. "It worked and it clicked."
Wolfson next travels Oct. 24 to top seed Pensacola Catholic (24-4), which swept past Baldwin. Baldwin ends the year at 19-6.
